Who we are
Build Together is an independent non-profit organisation based in Damascus, Syria. We serve as a collaborative hub for networking and project development, working to design, advocate for, and implement a wide range of economic and local development initiatives that contribute to Syria’s recovery.
Founded in 2025 in the wake of Syria’s ongoing transition, Build Together serves to support the country’s path forward toward a society and state built inclusively by Syrians for Syrians. We see economic development as a central pillar of this effort, combining the strengths of state-led initiatives with the resilience and responsiveness of locally owned efforts.
To this end, Build Together supports strategic development initiatives that bring together government agencies, international donors and investors, and community representatives in a shared effort to generate inclusive, sustainable growth.
What we do
Our work spans a diverse range of sectors – from rural livelihoods and SME support to major infrastructure rehabilitation – with a strong emphasis on long-term sustainability. We prioritise projects that not only meet immediate recovery needs but also lay the groundwork for climate resilience and green energy adoption, recognising that Syria’s future depends on building systems that are resource-efficient and environmentally responsible.
We actively promote integrated planning that leverages Syria’s geographic, cultural, and human potential. This includes piloting initiatives in solar power and sustainable agriculture, revitalising local industries using circular economy principles, and supporting green urban redevelopment in areas recovering from conflict.
Our approach
At the core of our approach is a belief in innovative, big-picture thinking. We support a new generation of Syrian development leaders who can advance progressive ideas that reposition Syria not only as a recovering country, but as a proactive regional player. From logistics and connectivity to energy corridors and digital infrastructure, our projects are designed with an eye toward regional integration.
Through close partnership with public institutions, civic actors, and the private sector, Build Together is helping to forge a new development compact rooted in pragmatic reform, community agency, and strategic vision.
